Welcome to the SBS Intl Ltd Website

SBS was established in March 1989 specifically to provide Independent Consultancy Services in Development Engineering to the international oil and gas industries in the two specialist areas of Subsea and Marine Engineering.

SBS is ‘relationship-based' and delivers the full range of marine and oilfield development engineering consultancy services that SBS has become known and respected for since its formation in the UK in March 1989. Some of these services are briefly outlined in this website.

SBS has developed from initially servicing UK Oil & Gas Operators in Aberdeen and London, (typical UK project would be Talisman Energy Ross Field development, where SBS provided most of the project management team engineering disciplines over a 3-year period (peaking at 24 SBS engineering personnel) from engineering studies and detailed engineering through to supervision of the offshore commissioning phase, to becoming a truly international subsea engineering and project management consultancy.

The company is a fully independent private business and is still operated by its founder, Group Chairman and CEO, Michael J. Spencer, supported by Co-owner and Managing Director, Liza M. Spencer, Quality Director, Zoe Leask and a dedicated management team. Engineering is carried out by our specialist world class, degree-qualified discipline engineers and project managers, most of whom are Chartered.

SBS Intl Ltd has been supporting SE Asian-based Oil & Gas Operators from the UK since 1998, and was encouraged by these Clients to become geographically closer. Therefore, in 2004, the Company incorporated its
first SE Asian branch office. The location of this first branch office was Indonesia.

PT. SBS (INDONESIA) was incorporated in Jakarta in 2004, and provides subsea project engineering, FEED studies, underwater inspection engineering, safety engineering as well as asset integrity management systems (AIMS) support to Indonesian-based Oil & Gas companies, with additional support from its UK-based parent as required.

SBS (THAILAND) Ltd was incorporated in Bangkok in 2008, in response to increasing growth and demand for marine and oilfield development engineering services in the Gulf of Thailand's offshore Oil & Gas industry and delivers a professional marine and subsea engineering support service to Thai-based Oil & Gas Producers in support of their current and future offshore field development projects, in both shallow and deep water environments.

SBS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD was incorporated in Kuala Lumpur in 2010, and provides the same high-quality support services to Petronas and Malaysian-based Oil & Gas operators.

Additional regional offices are planned for Vietnam and Cambodia, where SBS already has agency agreements in place and where demand for the SBS range of best-in-class marine and subsea development engineering services is growing.
